At Envision Hearing, Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) is not simply one of many services we provide—it is our primary clinical focus. While hearing clinics offer a broad range of hearing healthcare services, our practice is specifically focused on the assessment and management of APD. We take a holistic approach to every assessment. In addition to evaluating auditory processing abilities, we screen for sensory, attention, cognitive, and behavioural factors that may influence listening and communication. We recognize that some individuals with Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) also experience tinnitus and sound intolerance. When present, these concerns can be further explored through dedicated assessment and management services at Envision Hearing.

In addition to evaluating the auditory system, we also screen for sensory factors that may contribute to increased sound sensitivity. Some tinnitus is influenced by muscle and nerve input from other parts of the body. We also perform a physical examination of the jaw and neck to check for somatosensory tinnitus.
